Lake of the Woods Speedway
Farr, B. McDonald, Rehill Take 2026 Season Opener Wins
Racing returned for its 9th season at Lake of the Woods Speedway with the Riverview Industries WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds, Q104 Limited Stocks, and HD Contracting Ent. 4-Cylinders and brought to you by Kenora Chevrolet Buick GMC (www.kenoragm.com)
In Heat #1 of the Q104 Limited Stocks, Michael Copp weave in and out of traffic hard charging from fifth position to win it. Bryson McDonald followed up with a second place finish and Matt Taylor rounding out the top three. In Heat #2, Logan McDonald held off Jeff Copp to take the checkered flag. Tyler Brooks completed the race in third.
The feature race was a battle throughout the entire twenty laps. Morgan McDonald tailed right behind his brother Bryson in the early going but unfortunately faded back and had to deal with Jeff. Jeff was able to catch up to the back bumper of B. McDonald but was unable to make a move. Morgan and Logan McDonald would finish third and fourth. This is Bryson McDonald’s first ever season opener win at Lake of the Woods Speedway.
In the Riverview Industries WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds Heat #1, Paul Veert found traction on the high side of turn three and four to run away from the pack. Meanwhile, Brandon Rehill drove it from fifth to second with Brenden Luschinski finishing third. In Heat #2, Keelan Hall claimed the top spot while Jeff Rempel bravely ran the high side in turns one and two to claim second. Nick Audette finished third.
Hall took the lead early in the feature, but Rehill was making his way through the top five to catch up halfway through the race. A slip up by the leader led to a side-by-side battle for several laps until Rehill was able to complete the pass. Christopher Leek finished second and Hall hit the finish line in third.
This is Rehill’s second Season Opener win at Lake of the Woods Speedway and is now the first driver to earn twenty (20) feature wins.
The HD Contracting 4-Cylinders saw a three-car battle between Alexander Farr, Lorne Dubois and Dustin Wowk until near the end when Dubois was forced to retire early due to a fuel issue. Wowk would take the win with Farr in second and Courtney Alcock in third.
In the second heat, Kamea Muholland charged from fifth to first taking over from Taylor Strong-McCauley who finished second and Bruce Berringer completed in third.
The feature was a fun one as all levels of skill were out on display including some great battles from the front all the way to the back. In the end, Alexander Farr would win his first ever season opener with Mulholland close behind in second. Dustin Wowk rounded out the top three.
Thank you to everyone for being a part of the 2026 Season Opener at Lake of the Woods Speedway! We will be back on Sunday, June 21 with Hot Laps at 4pm and Racing at 4:30pm.
