Lake of the Woods Speedway
Hunter, Madoc, Bryson, Take Feature Wins, Audette Claims Dash
It was another Sunday of incredible action at Lake of the Woods Speedway as the HD Contracting 4-Cylinders, Riverview Industries WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds, and Q104 Limited Stocks took to the track.
In the Riverview Industries WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds, Stan Dueck held off Nick Audette to win heat one. Keelan Hall was able to pull away from the pole position in heat two to win the race over Christopher Leek.
The Dash for Cash had Audette starting on the pole. Austin Hunter had moved from fifth to third, but Leek had found a lane on the high side. With most cars running the middle, Leek was able to get by Dueck and Hunter. Leek got up beside the leader but fell back a bit in three and four. However, he was able to get a good run heading into turn one on the final lap. Unfortunately, Leek fell off the top of the track, backing into the wall. The race would finish with Audette winning the Dash presented by Shadow Motorsports Supply.
Hunter and Hooper started on the front row for the feature. It was a multi lane race as Hunter, Audette, and Dueck took the bottom to middle of the track. Luschinski and Leek moved to the high side with Leek getting up to second place and only a couple car lengths behind the leader. Luschinski wasn’t too far behind, having moved from the seventh position to finishing third. Hunter would claim the feature win.
In the HD Contracting Ent. 4-Cylinders, the battles were intense again. In heat one, Alexander Farr would finish first over Shelden McDonald after a lengthy side by side race. First time rookie, Kianna Edison finished in third. In heat two, Madoc and Kamea Mulholland would do the same thing with Madoc taking the second heat win.
In the feature, it was a four-car battle between the top two heat finishers. McDonald and Madoc fought for the longest time while Kamea and Farr stuck around and created some havoc. As they went three wide into turn one with only a couple laps left, the lap car of Riley Tesarski was the odd person out in the scrum which led to a caution. On the green white checkered, a good start from Madoc allowed him to gain enough of the edge to keep Farr and Kamea behind him. Madoc would win his third feature in a row.
The Q104 Limited Stocks had a great battle for the heat race with Michael Copp moving from seventh to second and fought with Logan McDonald during the first half of the race. Eventually, Logan would claim the win.
The feature had Bryson and Copp fight for the lead early on, but as Bryson pulled away, Logan and Copp were trying to settle it out for second place. Logan scraped the front stretch wall a few times doing everything he could to hold off Copp. In the end, it would be Bryson winning the feature, with Copp taking second.
The standings battle is close with just one last points race remaining on Sunday, August 24 with Hot Laps at 4pm and Racing at 4:30pm.
