Lake of the Woods Speedway
Bell, Logan M, Madoc M. Claim Features - Audette, Copp, Madoc M., Take Championships
Lake of the Woods Speedway was back in action with the points championship on the line. The standings were close with Nick Audette vying for his third track championship, Michael Copp for his fourth, and Madoc Mulholland with the opportunity to win his first ever.
However, Christopher Leek (-5), Logan McDonald (-3) and Kamea Mulholland (-5) were all very much in contention to play the spoiler in their respective classes.
In the Riverview Industries WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds, trouble for Audette at the start of the race led to a DNF. Leek would gain a couple points after the heat race, tightening the chase. Keelan Hall took the win with Stan Dueck and Brodie Mcgowan rounding out the top three.
In the feature, Leek started on the pole, with Audette starting at the back. The initial laps had Edward Bell and Leek battling for the top spot but Bell had more grip through the corner as Leek began to fade back. Audette was moving up a couple positions. As the race continued, Leek continued to fall back as a hard charging Jesse Mckuski moved into third. Bell continued to run away with it and Audette was now challenging Leek for fourth.
Coming to the checkered flag, Bell would take his first win in four years, Dueck taking second, McKuski third. Audette would claim his third championship at Lake of the Woods Speedway, edging out Leek by a single point.
The Q104 Limited Stocks had a battle with Copp and Logan in heat one. Logan got into the wall on the frontstretch and lost it going into the first corner. After the caution, Logan had to fight his way into second, losing a point to Copp in the process. In heat two, Bryson McDonald would take the win, Darrin Rea second, Matt Taylor, third.
For the feature, it was Dave Rogers and Bryson on the front row. At the start of the race, Bryson would move to the high side and start to pull away from the field. Copp and Logan were already jostling for position having started sixth and third, respectively. The two would eventually catch up with Bryson but Logan had the edge on the inside. After some positional moves, Logan would take the lead with the other two right behind. They caught up to some lap traffic and an incident ensued involving Copp and Bryson. Luckily, both cars were able to continue. After the restart, Logan would pull away enough to take his first win of the season! Bryson would claim second and Copp third.
As a result of the feature, Copp would claim his fourth Track Championship by a single point over Logan.
The HD Contracting Ent. 4-Cylinders hosted ten cars for two heats. In heat one, Madoc Mulholland would get by Alexander Farr to claim the win, Kianna Edison finishing third. In the second heat, Kamea Mulholland got the jump for the lead and never looked back for the win. Shelden McDonald and Keelan Hall would finish out the top three.
In the feature, it was all Farr for over half the race while Madoc and Kamea made their way into the top three having started fifth and sixth respectively. It was about to be a three-way battle for the lead when suddenly Farr’s car stalled out. On the ensuing restart, Madoc was able to grab the leader over his sister. As the final laps wound down, Kamea tried a couple other lines and almost gained the edge but coming to the checkered flag it would be Madoc winning the feature and claiming his first ever track championship.
Congratulations to #20 Nick Audette, #71 Madoc Mulholland, and #46 Michael Copp for the 2025 Track Championships!
