Mcgowan Claims First WISSOTA Midwest Mod Win, M. Mulholland, B. McDonald Take Wins
It was another beautiful day for racing at Lake of the Woods Speedway on Sunday June 21 at the Riverview Industries WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds, Q104 Limited Stocks, and HD Contracting Ent. 4-Cylinders took to the track for the second time this season.
In the Q104 Limited Stocks, Justin Krause used the entire track to make his way to the lead and eventually win in the heat race. Dave Rogers finished second, Bryson McDonald third. In the feature, B. McDonald started on the pole and never looked back taking his second win of the year, even as Krause and Logan McDonald swapped positions and slide jobs before Krause had to retire early. Matt Taylor held onto third with Taylor Christian and Darrin Rear completing the top five.
The HD Contracting Ent. 4-Cylinders were split into two heats. In heat one, Madoc Mulholland charged from fifth spot to take the win. Shelden McDonald and Will Alcock rounded out the top three. In the second heat, Alexander Farr pulled away from the field just enough to take the win over the rookie of Lorne Dubois. Tyler Brooks finished third. In the feature, Mulholland claimed the early lead with Farr trying to chase him down. Near halfway, disaster struck as Farr broke down and had to leave the race early. Even after a late race caution, Mulholland had no challengers to claim his first feature win in 2026. McDonald finished second and Dubois finished third after starting in the eighth position.
Riverview Industries WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds had Edward Bell go from fifth to first in the heat race. Christopher Leek and Brodie Mcgowan finished third.
The feature went green to checkered. Nick Hooper and Mcgowan started on the front row with Mcgowan taking the lead on lap one. Leek tried to gain momentum to challenge the leader but was forced to finish second with a battle from Bell in the last five laps of the race.
This is Mcgowan’s first ever feature win in the Riverview Industries WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds. He is also the first driver at Lake of the Woods Speedway to win a feature race in each of the classes we run regularly. Congratulations Brodie!
