Lake of the Woods Speedway
Logan McDonald Takes Feature, K. Mulholland and Mcgowan Win
Racing returned to Lake of the Woods Speedway with the Q104Limited Stocks, Riverview Industries WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds and HD Contracting 4-Cylinders in action.
In the heat race of the Q104 Limited Stocks, Logan McDonald held off his brother Bryson enough for the win. Morgan McDonald finished third.
The feature race was a thrilling side by side battle with Morgan and Bryson. Justin Krause, Dave Rogers, and Logan McDonald battled it out for 3rd on back. Suddenly, heading into turn one, Bryson flew off the top of the track bringing out the caution and sending him to the back. On the ensuring restart, Logan and Morgan battled side by side for several laps until Logan had enough of a consistent lead to eventually take his first win of 2026. Morgan took second while Krause took third. Bryson recovered to a fourth-place finish.
The Riverview WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds had Christopher Leek take the lead from the front row over Dustin Alcock to eventually claim the win. Edward Bell moved into second spot while Brodie Mcgowan finished third.
The feature placed Mcgowan on the pole position. From the start of the race, Mcgowan pulled away from the rest of the cars. Bell was gaining on the leader for much of the race, but at lap 10, the car tightened up and he lost some distance. He was able to gain within a car length of Mcgowan but ran out of laps giving Mcgowan his second win of the season back-to-back. Leek finished third.
The HD Contracting Enterprises 4-Cylinders was split into two heats. Alexander Farr started in the third position and was able to get by both Shelden McDonald and rookie Lorne Dubois to claim the win. In heat two, Kamea Mulholland got around Tyler Brooks to take the win. Anthony Bailey rounded out in third.
Dubois and Mulholland started on the front row for the feature. As the race moved through each lap, Mulholland and Farr pulled away from the rest of the field. Meanwhile, Shelden McDonald had moved his way up from eighth place to third. Lap traffic started to play some havoc on the leader and with two laps to go, Farr had caught up to Mulholland. Weaving in and out, Farr made one last dash coming out of four. It wasn’t quite enough as Mulholland claimed the feature win by just half a car length.
